BIO - John Fico

In 2010, award-winning playwright Monica Bauer wrote MADE FOR EACH OTHER, a four character one-man play based on my life for The 2010 Planet Connections Festivity in NYC (Nominated for Outstanding Actor In A Solo Show and Outstanding Production of a Solo Show) and scheduled for the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.    Following that run was another four character performance at NYMF in the Marx Brothers musical THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING YOU EVER HOID at Urban Stages. (The cast shared the award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance).  I originated a role in the world premiere of the political comedy SCREEN PLAY by A.R. Gurney at Tribecca's Flea Theater, directed by Jim Simpson.  Along with The Flea, I have performed with Target Margin Theatre Company and toured with the national company of the musical A STOOP ON ORCHARD STREET.  Other credits include the New York production of A STOOP ON ORCHARD STREET, PINK ELEPHANTS at The Slipper Room with Candis Cayne, LAUGHING WILD at The Homegrown Theatre, the 1994 OUT IN THE WORLD play series with the New Vineyard Theatre and ASHLEY MONTANA GOES ASHORE IN THE CAICOS starring Bebe Neuwirth (u/s at The Flea).  Regional and stock: GUYS AND DOLLS at Mt Washington Valley, OVER THE RIVER… at Ft Salem Theater, HELLO DOLLY! at Forestburg Playhouse, BEYOND THERAPY at Albany Summer Stock at The Egg.   On the web I can be found in episode 7 of the popular comedy series 50 TO DEATH.  While acting, I have been a waiter, an organic vegetable salesman, a cat-sitter, and a puppeteer with POKO Puppets.  I have proudly been a member of both H. M. Koutoukas’ historic School for Gargoyles and of The Flea Theater's resident acting company "The Bats".
